12-1/4" x 3-3/8" 10K General Duty Hub Drum Kit – 8 on 6.5" – BD044-GD-KIT
Aftermarket hub and drum assembly designed for 9K and 10K General Duty axles built through July 1, 2009. This configuration fits Dexter “old-style” 288 series two-piece hub and drum systems commonly identified by drums cast with “9-44” and use of the 21-36 4" oil bath cap.
This assembly is not interchangeable with 2009 and newer 8-415 or 8-430 series hub and drum designs. Always confirm axle build date and casting numbers before ordering.
R&P Knowledge Hub
Dexter revised 9K and 10K General Duty hub architecture in mid-2009, creating a non-interchangeable break between earlier 288 series systems and later 415/430 series assemblies. The earlier 288 series uses a two-piece hub and drum configuration with the 9-44 drum and 008-288 series hub.
The later 415/430 series systems will not interchange with the earlier design, even though brake diameters and bearing sizes may appear similar. Verification of casting numbers, oil cap style, bolt pattern, and bearing stack is required prior to installation.
When servicing older 9K and 10K axles, correct identification prevents costly fitment errors.
