- Measure before ordering: inner spindle journal should mic at ≈1.378"; hub cup bore must match the cup you’re using (2.361" OD for L68111, ≈2.328" OD for L68110).
- Common on 10" drum or idler hubs used with 3500 lb axles; UFP hubs often use the same inner bearing but a slightly different seal size—confirm your seal I.D./O.D.
- Older mobile-home hubs sometimes use L68149 inside; verify your outer bearing (often L44649) and seal to avoid mix-match.
- When refreshing hubs, inspect races for scoring and replace cups with matching part numbers to the bearing cone (L68111 or L68110).
Install & Preload (Quick Reference)
- Pack bearing fully with high-temp wheel bearing grease; seat into the matching cup.
- Tighten spindle nut while rotating hub to seat rollers, then back off; set just finger-snug and align cotter (target endplay ≈0.001"–0.005").
- Spin test and check for heat on initial road test; recheck endplay after first 25–50 miles.
