R&P Knowledge Hub
Surge brake actuators operate hydraulically using trailer momentum. When the tow vehicle slows, the actuator compresses and pressurizes the master cylinder, sending brake fluid to the drum brake wheel cylinders.
Proper actuator selection requires confirming trailer weight rating, brake type (drum vs. disc), tongue size, and ball size compatibility. Always verify hydraulic line compatibility and coupler fit before installation.
