Complete set of two genuine Dexter 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" hydraulic brake backing plate assembliesfor 8,000 lb trailer axles. Includes one left-hand (driver side) and one right-hand (passenger side)brake assembly.
Designed for heavy-duty hydraulic drum brake systems using surge or electric-over-hydraulicactuators. Mounts to standard 4-bolt brake flanges.
These assemblies are for hydraulic systems only and cannot be used with electric brake systems.

Hydraulic brake assemblies use fluid pressure from a surge actuator or electric-over-hydraulicsystem to expand the brake shoes against the drum surface.
The duo-servo design provides self-energizing braking in both forward and reverse directions,which improves stopping performance under heavy loads. Because brake assemblies are side-specific,a complete axle requires both a left and right unit — this listing includes both.
