R&P Knowledge Hub
Dexter 7,200 lb axles commonly use the 8-393 hub and drum configuration with 2-1/2" wide brake shoes. These hubs utilize tapered bearings and may be configured for either grease or oil bath systems depending on the seal used. Proper seal selection is critical—grease hubs require a grease seal, while oil bath hubs require the correct oil seal. Always verify bearing numbers and lubrication type before installation.
