Hydraulic drum brake backing plate assembly for compatible AL-KO / Hayes-style heavy trailer axle applications. This K23-524-00 assembly is listed for left-hand or right-hand use where brake size, mounting pattern, and axle configuration match.
This K23-524-00 hydraulic brake backing plate assembly is built for heavy-duty trailer brake service on compatible AL-KO / Hayes-style 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb axle systems. It is designed for 12.25" x 3.5" hydraulic drum brake applications using a 5-bolt mounting configuration. Unlike many brake assemblies that are side-specific, this part is listed for left-hand or right-hand application when installed on a matching system.
Brake hand orientation matters because left-side and right-side brake assemblies are often different. This listing is specifically written around K23-524-00 as a left-hand or right-hand hydraulic assembly, but the axle, drum, mounting flange, and hydraulic configuration still need to match.
Compatibility: Designed for compatible AL-KO / Hayes hydraulic drum brake applications where brake size, mounting pattern, axle rating, and hydraulic configuration match.
Vehicle / System Fit: Used on heavy-duty trailer axle systems with 12.25" x 3.5" hydraulic drum brakes.
Installation Notes: Confirm brake diameter, brake width, mounting bolt pattern, axle manufacturer, hydraulic line layout, and left/right installation position before installation.
Performance Insight: Duo-servo hydraulic brake assemblies use fluid pressure to expand the brake shoes against the drum. Correct fitment and installation position are critical for even braking, proper adjustment, and safe trailer operation.
K23-524-00 is listed for left-hand or right-hand use, helping reduce side-selection confusion when the rest of the brake specifications match.
Matches trailer drums requiring a 12.25" diameter and 3.5" brake width.
Built for brake flanges using a 5-bolt mounting pattern. Always verify flange pattern before ordering.
Duo-servo hydraulic brake construction supports strong drum brake engagement when correctly matched to the axle and drum.
