The Kodiak disc brake kit is engineered for reliable, high-performance stopping power on heavy-duty trailers equipped with 8,000-lb Dexter axles (featuring 16" or larger wheels and an 8-on-6-1/2" bolt pattern with 9/16" bolts). Designed for exceptional durability in both freshwater and saltwater environments, the kit features Dacromet-plated rotors, calipers, and brackets tested to withstand 300 to 400 hours of salt spray without corroding. Its vented rotor design efficiently dissipates heat during heavy braking under load, while cast iron calipers paired with 2-1/4" stainless steel pistons deliver maximum braking torque and consistent, short stopping distances—even at highway speeds. Maintenance and installation are simple thanks to the slip-on, over-the-hub rotors that easily fit standard idler hubs.
