Kodiak 10" Slip-On Disc Brake Kit – 5 Lug – All Dacromet – 3,500 lb Axles
Kodiak’s 10" slip-on disc brake kit is a smart upgrade for 3,500 lb trailer axles using a standard 4-bolt brake flange. With Dacromet-coated rotors, brackets, and calipers, this kit is built for strong braking, easier serviceability, and better corrosion resistance in demanding road and light-to-moderate marine environments.

R&P Knowledge Hub
Why slip-on matters: This rotor-only design fits over a standard idler hub, is centered by the wheel bolts, and is retained by the wheel and lug nuts. That means the rotor and hub are separate service items, so you are not forced to replace both at once.
Roadside advantage: If a hub or bearing fails, a commonly available replacement hub can often get you back on the road while allowing you to reuse the Kodiak rotor if it remains serviceable.
Fitment checkpoint: This kit is designed for 3,500 lb axles with a standard 4-bolt brake flange and requires 14" or larger wheels. Slip-on brake setups also add about 1/2" to overall axle length, moving the wheel and tire roughly 1/4" outward per side.
Hydraulic note: Disc brakes generally require more hydraulic pressure than drum brakes, so confirm your actuator is appropriate for a disc-brake system before installation.
Coating insight: Dacromet is Kodiak’s recommended starting point for customers who want a corrosion-resistant brake kit for on-road use and minor to moderate saltwater exposure.
R&P Service Insight
This is the kind of brake kit that sells well because it solves two real-world problems at once: braking performance and serviceability. The vented rotors help manage heat, while the separate hub-and-rotor layout makes future maintenance more practical than an integral hub/rotor setup.
- Inspect pads regularly for uneven or excessive wear
- Inspect rotors for scoring, heat buildup, cracks, or warpage
- Check fluid level and lines for leaks before use
- Re-check bolted connections after installation and during routine service
Features
- Slip-on 10" vented rotor design allows the hub and rotor to be serviced independently
- All-Dacromet corrosion package on rotors, caliper mounting brackets, and calipers
- Fits 3,500 lb trailer axles with a standard 4-bolt brake flange
- Pre-loaded calipers, stainless slide hardware, and installation manual included

When Doing This Project
| Item | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Caliper Bracket Mounting Bolts | You may need flange mounting bolts to secure the caliper brackets to the trailer's brake flange |
| 1.98" Accu-Lube / EZ Lube Dust Caps | This is the stated cap size for the standard 5-lug hub used with this style of setup |
| Trailer Lug Nuts | Compatible standard 5-lug hubs in this family use 1/2-20 trailer lug studs |
| DOT 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid | Needed when bleeding the brake system after installation |
Verify axle capacity, flange style, wheel clearance, hub compatibility, actuator type, and all hydraulic components before installation. On rotor-only applications, confirm the rotor fits the hub correctly and that wheel studs provide full lug nut engagement after assembly.
