Replacement dust shield kit for 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb AL-KO electric brake backing plate applications. Designed for electric brake use only and supplied as a pair-style kit with two steel shields.
This R&P Carriages dust shield kit is a replacement protection solution designed for compatible AL-KO 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb electric brake assemblies where the shield, backing plate, brake flange, and mounting pattern match. The shields install between the axle brake flange and the electric brake backing plate to help protect brake components from gravel, moisture, road debris, and contamination that can contribute to premature brake wear.
Dust shields are a small but important protection piece in heavy-duty trailer brake service, especially when the trailer is exposed to road grit, wet conditions, or job-site debris.
Compatibility: Designed for 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb AL-KO electric brake backing plate applications.
Vehicle / System Fit: Used with heavy-duty trailer axle electric brake assemblies where a dust shield mounts between the axle brake flange and backing plate.
Installation Notes: Installation requires removal of the brake backing plate and proper alignment with the existing brake flange bolt pattern.
Performance Insight: Dust shields act as a barrier against road debris and contamination that can accelerate brake component wear.
Selling Brand: R&P Carriages
Application Reference: AL-KO is used in this listing as a compatibility and application reference for 10K / 12K electric brake backing plate dust shield service.
What This Means: This listing is for a dust shield service kit for compatible AL-KO-style electric brake applications, not a guaranteed OEM-branded AL-KO item unless specifically stated and verified on the product packaging.
Before Ordering: Confirm axle capacity, brake type, brake size, backing plate style, and brake flange mounting configuration.
When servicing heavy-duty trailer brakes, inspect the brake flange area, backing plate, wiring, magnets, shoes, springs, and hardware while the assembly is apart. A dust shield replacement is often handled during broader brake inspection or backing plate service.
Helps shield electric brake components from road debris, gravel, moisture, and contamination.
Built for compatible AL-KO 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb electric brake backing plate applications.
Designed specifically for electric brake assemblies, not hydraulic disc brake applications.
Includes two steel dust shields for service work where a matched pair is needed.
