The Collar® TC-2 is a purpose-built coupler security device designed to help prevent unauthorized operation of compatible Bulldog-style trailer coupler latches.
Unlike conventional ball-socket locks that can only be used on an unhitched trailer, The Collar is designed for use with compatible couplers whether the trailer is connected to a tow vehicle or parked separately.

Why a Bulldog-Style Coupler Needs a Different Kind of Lock
Bulldog-style and RAM latch-style couplers use a different operating arrangement from many conventional lever-latch trailer couplers.
Standard coupler ball locks typically occupy the empty ball socket, making them useful when the trailer is parked—but not while the trailer is connected to a tow vehicle.
The Collar addresses the latch mechanism itself. Its formed collar surrounds the compatible coupler's operating components and provides an opening for a separate padlock.
When properly installed and locked, it adds a physical barrier against unauthorized latch operation. No security device is theft-proof, so good trailer security should also include appropriate parking, inspection and additional security measures.

Bulldog: Compatible Bulldog-style couplers, including applicable 2" and 2-5/16" configurations.
RAM: Compatible RAM latch-style couplers.
Butler: Certain compatible coupler profiles.
Kodiak: Certain compatible coupler profiles.
Not designed for Fulton-style couplers.
IMPORTANT: Coupler brand and ball size alone do not guarantee compatibility. Compare the actual latch profile and opening dimensions against your existing coupler before ordering.

Secure the Latch Without Changing Your Coupler.
A compatible coupler security collar adds protection to the existing hitching arrangement without replacing the trailer's complete coupler assembly.
The important step is confirming that the collar surrounds the intended latch geometry and can be properly locked without interfering with safe towing operation.

A Lock Is Not a Substitute for a Sound Coupler.
Inspect the coupler's latch, pivot components, ball engagement and mounting hardware before towing. A security collar does not repair a worn or damaged latch mechanism.
When selecting a padlock, confirm that the shackle fits the 0.47" opening and that the lock body provides suitable clearance for your coupler configuration.
