Use of the extender reduces the hitch receiver’s published capacity by 50%. Never exceed the adapter’s 350 lb maximum tongue-weight rating or the reduced rating of the vehicle, receiver or accessory—whichever is lowest. Include the weight of the carrier or rack when calculating the total load.
