Brand & Fitment Note
Selling Brand: R&P Carriages
Application Reference: Trailer, toolbox, and compartment references describe common application use only where measurements and mounting style match.
What This Means: This listing is for a R&P Carriages mini tear drop locking latch, not a guaranteed OEM-branded item unless specifically stated and verified.
Before Ordering: Verify measurements, mounting style, door thickness, latch depth, cam engagement, and included components before installation.
R&P Repair Insight
Many latch issues come from mismatched door thickness, worn cam engagement, or an incorrect cutout rather than the lock cylinder itself.
- Check Door Thickness: The latch must be deep enough to pass through the door and allow the cam to engage correctly.
- Check Cutout Fit: Compare your existing latch opening to the replacement latch body before ordering.
- Check Cam Clearance: Make sure the latch can rotate and catch the frame or striker area without binding.
