The 99-27 brake drum represents the heavy-duty class above 7K trailer systems. While both 7K and 10K drums may share a 12-1/4" diameter, the 10K system increases shoe width from 3-3/8" to 4", significantly expanding braking surface area and thermal capacity.
This drum is typically used with Dexter 10K and 13D axles and replaces Dexter reference 009-027-01. It is not interchangeable with lighter-duty 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" systems. Correct brake width verification is critical before ordering.
