The B&W Companion OEM RVB3705 is a replacement fifth-wheel hitch base engineered for compatible Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD pickups equipped with the factory-installed four-puck towing preparation system.
This base is the lower mounting assembly used with the B&W Companion 25,000-lb fifth-wheel hitch, RVK3705. It secures directly into the factory underbed puck receivers and accepts a compatible Companion hitch head assembly.

Fitment distinction: The RVB3705 is designed for the earlier GM factory puck pattern. It is not the correct base for the redesigned 2020-and-newer GM puck system. Verify the installed towing preparation package rather than relying on vehicle model year alone.
Short-bed applications: This is a stationary base, not a sliding hitch. Short-bed trucks may require additional turning clearance or a suitable slider hitch. Verify cab-to-trailer clearance, pin-box compatibility, and the truck manufacturer's towing requirements.

Factory puck mounting: The base connects directly to the four receiver points in the GM factory-installed underbed fifth-wheel mounting system. Locking handles secure the base to the vehicle's puck receivers.
Hitch head positioning: Adjustable pivot arms provide three vertical mounting positions and two fore/aft configurations. Proper positioning helps achieve suitable trailer clearance and towing geometry when used with the compatible hitch head.
Replacement versus conversion: RVB3705 can replace a damaged or incompatible Companion base while retaining a compatible existing Companion coupler/head assembly. Confirm the head assembly part number and B&W compatibility requirements before attempting a conversion.
Rating limitations: The 25,000-lb gross trailer weight and 6,250-lb vertical load figures are hitch ratings, not an increase to the truck's towing or payload capacities. The permissible combination is limited by the lowest-rated applicable component and the vehicle manufacturer's ratings.
Before replacing a Companion base, identify the existing hitch head and confirm the truck's actual puck arrangement. GM changed its factory mounting pattern for the 2020 model year. A base intended for the earlier puck system should not be ordered solely because the truck has a factory fifth-wheel preparation package.
Installation and Safety
Install and adjust this base according to the current B&W instructions for RVB3705. Check the seating of all four mounting feet, secure the locking mechanisms, and verify proper hitch head attachment before towing.
Confirm bed-rail clearance, cab clearance, trailer attitude, loaded pin weight, and the combined ratings of the tow vehicle, fifth-wheel hitch, and trailer. Do not exceed any applicable manufacturer rating.
