Overview
The Dexter DX20EX is a high-capacity hydraulic surge brake actuator designed for heavy-duty trailers with a GVWR of up to 20,000 lbs. This weld-on center mount unit provides automatic braking for hydraulic drum brake systems by using trailer momentum to apply pressure to the master cylinder. It is a strong fit for equipment haulers, flatbeds, and industrial trailers where a channel-mounted heavy-duty actuator is required.
What Our D068-434-00 Is
D068-434-00 is an adjustable channel-mount surge brake actuator with a clevis front end. It is not a standard hitch ball coupler. Instead, this unit uses a double-ear clevis connection at the front, designed for a pin-style attachment point.
The actuator body mounts into an adjustable channel, allowing height positioning through the side hole pattern. When towing, the surge actuator compresses under braking force and applies hydraulic pressure to the trailer’s brake system.
